ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Women Wing on Friday took out a protest rally against printing of blasphemous sketches in a French magazine at the National Press Club. The rally, participated by a large number of JI woman workers, was led by Jamaat’s Punjab Nazima Sakina Shahid and leaders of the local chapter.
Addressing protestors who were carrying banners and placards, the JI central naib amir Mian Muhammad Aslam strongly condemned the blasphemous act committed by the French magazine. He said the action of the magazine and support extended to its administration by the western world was highly regrettable.
Mian Aslam demanded of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to play his role to convene an emergency meeting of the organization of the Islamic Countries (OIC) so that a unanimous stance of the Muslim world could emerge out of it. He said the action of the magazine amounts to humiliation of Islam and humanity as well.
JI Islamabad amir Zubair Farooq Khan said it was also due to differences amongst the Muslim ummah that some elements in the western world have been committing such actions time and again.
