Two suspected robbers and a salesman were wounded during an exchange of fire between police and alleged robbers in the Shah Latif Town on Monday.
According to the Shah Latif police, the shootout ensued between the robbers and the police at a utility store located in Sector 17-A of the area. The police said two robbers were wounded along with a salesman in the store. The injured were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment.
The police said the suspected robbers were identified as Ahmed Nawaz and Mukhtiyar, while the injured salesman was Niaz, son of Sher. The police said they found a pistol, ammunition and a motorcycle in the possession of the suspected robbers. A case has been registered and investigations are under way.
'Motorcycle thief' held
The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police said they arrested an alleged motorcycle thief in the Bin Qasim area and found three stolen motorcycles and one unlicensed pistol in his possession.
According to the AVLC spokesperson, the arrested suspect would sell the stolen motorcycles in the Lasbela and Windar areas of Balochistan. The spokesperson said the suspect was arrested for the first time and he was identified as Jam Sabir.
