GCU announces closure as early summer break
LAHORE :In the light of federal government’s decision to keep the campuses closed till May 31, Government College University (GCU) has announced observing the closure as early summer break, with no online lectures, and resuming the semester on June 1, 2020.
A GCU spokesperson said the new academic calendar would be announced soon, and a formal notification would be issued as early as possible. “Moreover, during this time, we will also look towards developing a coordinated solution for virtual learning, so as to be fully prepared if we have to resume online lecturing even after June 1, 2020,” the spokesperson said. In his message to the university students through social media, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi said “Though there would be no online lectures during this early summer break, I encourage you all to keep yourself engaged in some form of self-study.”
