MIRANSHAH: Another US drone attack in North Waziristan Agency on Monday reportedly killed two unidentified men riding a motorbike.

The strike took place near Haiderkhel village in the Mir Ali sub-division at 6am. The men were passing through a dry stream when they were attacked. Villagers and tribal sources said the drone fired four missiles at the motorcycle. Three missiles fired from the spy plane missed the target as the rider sped away. However, the fourth missile hit the target and killed the two men on the spot.

The villagers said the bodies were disfigured and were beyond recognition. The identity of the slain men wasn’t known, but official sources said they were militants. The attack came at a time when different religious parties on Monday took out a large procession from Peshawar to Jamrud to condemn the US drone strikes in the tribal areas. Leaders of Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC), during the protest, insisted that innocent people, including women and children, were being targeted in the drone attacks.
