Unchanged Peshawar

By our correspondents
November 29, 2015
This refers to the letter, ‘Peshawar Jams’ (November 24) by M Sayyad Alam Khan. I agree with the writer about the traffic problem in Peshawar becoming a nightmare to deal with. Travelling small distances is now problematic because it takes much longer and one also ends up consuming extra fuel. The PTI government promised to bring about a change in the province but has ignored the severe traffic issues in the provincial capital for the last two years.
I fail to understand why Imran Khan declined the metro-bus project for Peshawar offered by the PM when it was to be funded by the federal government. The PTI must set its party politics aside and emulate the Punjab government which has undertaken ambitious projects to address the traffic problems in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan.
