Five students suffered injuries as yet another clash among activists of the Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) and the All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organisation (APMSO) was reported at the NED University on Monday.
Rangers personnel deployed at the varsity intervened to end the brawl and a total of 19 activists from both groups were reportedly detained.
The injured were shifted to different health centres for medical attention.
The latest clash was seen by officials as a continuance of the confrontation between IJT and APMSO workers at a book fair on January 12, in which nine students suffered serious to light injuries.
That particular brawl broke out after some students uprooted stalls at the book fair, and both sides later accused each other of initiating the fight.
The varsity management has been hesitant to take action against the student organisations, despite calls from the teaching faculty for measures to maintain a peaceful, conducive environment at the university.
