Terror attacks increased in Balochistan in last one month
ISLAMABAD: Terrorist attacks have been increased in Balochistan during the past one month. Seven major incidents of terrorism took place in which 30 people were killed and 37 injured.
In Mastung on December 29 terrorists targeted the Frontier Corps and as a result three FC personnel embraced martyrdom and two injured. The second terrorist attack took place on January 9, 2016 in Kaldan, in which two FC soldiers got martyred and three were injured, in this attack a vehicle of coast guards was targeted with a roadside bomb.
On January 13, in Quetta, polio team, 13 policemen and one FC soldier were martyred while 25 injured in a suicide attack.
Another incident of terrorism took place on January 18 in “Marget” that is 50 km from Quetta. The terrorists targeted the FC vehicle by a remote control bomb as a result six FC personnel were martyred. The convoy of former provincial minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti was attacked with a roadside bomb on January 28; injuring his three bodyguards.
On January 28 in Quetta near Mengal Cross, four policemen martyred by the firing of a terrorist, while attackers also took away official weapons while escaping. On Thursday, four army personnel were injured in a suicide attack; Mehsud Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. When contacted, former minister Sarfraz Bugti told The News that after the attack on Pathankot airbase in India, terrorist attacks increased in Balochistan.
He said once again Taliban and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are being organised after the killing of Taliban commander and Saifullah Kardoo of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, which will have serious implications.
He further said provincial government has convened a meeting to review the security situation of Balochistan that will be chaired by the chief minister. He said Pakistan is at war but we achieved prominent success against the terrorists.
