A crime worse than murder!
Islamabad : For eight months this gang of beasts had been abusing and blackmailing these poor victims who, only investigations will reveal, how fell into their dirty paws and had been living a miserable life ever since.
And, when these victims got physically, mentally and emotionally tired and failed to meet their demands these monsters uploaded the video clips, completely ruining their lives. However, the two had been dying every second, minute, day, week, and month since they fell in the clutches of this gang of the beastly creatures, who could not be considered human beings after what they had done.
The fact that the District Administration and the Islamabad Police acted real fast and apprehended these monsters, which is appreciable, but only further investigations will reveal as to how many other lives they have destroyed and who else is part of this gang.
Still, instead of being ashamed for what they had done, the leader really had the nerve to send out a recorded message from police custody, challenging that he will be out within days as his opponents are too weak to confront him, and then he will be more vengeful!
The prime minister and the interior minister had taken notice of the incident, but unfortunately, they had been taking notice of such incidents in the past as well. It is not the test of the political leadership, be in treasury benches or on the opposition. This, in fact, is the real test of the police and the judiciary who are responsible to implement the law and deliver justice.
This is an open secret that the police are notorious for weakening any case allegedly for the right amount of money and the issue was discussed openly with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad, Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman, but he ruled out any such eventuality in this particular case.
He said that the ‘Investigation Officer’ in this case would be an officer of Superintendent of Police (SP) level and not a ‘Sub-Inspector’ as is normally the practice is.
The evidence, in the shape of video clips, released by the criminals themselves, though agonizing to watch, clearly indicate that both the victims were fully dressed and both were beaten by members of this gang and were forced to take off their attires. Whatever happened next was under extreme duress.
The law has already been passed under which any voice or video recording is admissible in the court of law as evidence, so there is plenty of it available for the police and the court of law to act upon and proceed.
However, and unfortunately, there always is a ‘however’ there are indications that the case would be referred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as the crime committed falls under the ‘Cyber Crime Act’ of law, or at least part of the crime concerning video filming and then uploading it for public viewing on the internet.
When contacted, the officials in the FIA said that thus far they have not been approached or involved to investigate the case from that particular angle, invoking the ‘Cyber Crime Act’.
“We will extend our full cooperation if we were asked to be part of the investigations to pinpoint as to when and by whom these video clips were uploaded,” the FIA official said.
So far there is only one case against these monstrous criminals. But the way they had acted clearly shows that they were no immature criminals. The possibility of the involvement of other people, especially those running the establishment where this unfortunate incident happened could not be ruled out.
It would not be surprising if some more ‘powerful people’ may be found to be on the back of these monsters.
Now that the prime minister and the interior minister have already taken notice of the unfortunate and shameful incident, it is, first, up to the police to complete their investigations post haste and then people of Pakistan would love to watch as to how our judiciary proceed with the case. Police and judiciary through their actions and verdict will decide if such heinous crimes will persist or will be rooted out from society once and for all.
