Body found inside car at cattle market
A man on Saturday was found dead inside a car parked at the parking area of the cattle market on the Super Highway.
According to police, the body was found in a silver Toyota Vitz. Upon receiving the information, police and rescuers reached the scene and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where it was identified to be that of 36-year-old Ovais, son of Abdul Hameed.
Police said there were torture marks on the victim’s face and head, and a liquor bottle and a woman’s purse was also found in the car. They added that initial investigations suggested that unidentified suspects had killed the victim by hitting his head with a heavy object after intoxicating him.
The deceased had reportedly left home on Friday to buy gold from the Saddar area but did not return, after which his family lodged a complaint at the Baghdadi police station.
