ISLAMABAD: The national tally of active COVID-19 cases was Thursday recorded 36,215 with 1,119 more people testing positive and 2,763 people recovering during the 24 hours.
Forty-six corona patients died during the 24 hours out of which 40 were under treatment in hospitals and six in their respective quarantines or homes, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
Most of deaths occurred in the Punjab followed by Sindh.
Out of the total 46 deaths, 18 died on the ventilator.
There were 2,494 patients under treatment in critical care. The national positivity ratio during the 24 hours was recorded 3 percent.
The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Peshawar 18 percent, Lahore 20 percent, Bahawalpur 28 percent and Multan 40 percent. Around 282 ventilators were occupied elsewhere in the country, while no affected person was on ventilator in Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
Around 37,196 tests were conducted across the country on Wednesday, including 13,755 in Sindh, 7,619 in Punjab, 9,527 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 4,419 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 1,030 in Balochistan, 372 in GB, and 474 in AJK. Around 887,095 people have recovered so far across Pakistan making it a significant count with over 90 percent recovery ratio.
