19-year-old girl gang-raped during dacoity

BAHAWALPUR: A 19-year-old girl was raped by two dacoits during a dacoity at Basti Dhabban in the limits of Sadar Bahawalnagar police on Sunday. Reportedly, eight dacoits entered a house and looted dowry of a girl.

Two dacoits also raped the girl. The victim’s brother Allah Ditta said that the gangsters forced their entry into the house and held the family hostage at gunpoint and looted valuables. He said that the dacoits tied them with ropes and looted her sister’s dowry. He said that during the incident, two of the dacoits also raped his sister who was to be married after two months. The family demanded the police high-ups take notice of the incident. No case was registered till the filing of the report. When contacted, Sadar police DSP Amjad Kamboh said that the FIR was being registered but no arrest was made.
