25pc disparity allowance being considered for Grade 20-22 employees
ISLAMABAD: The government is considering granting 25 percent disparity allowance to the public sector employees of grade 20 to 22 in the coming fiscal year.
“Yes, we are considering granting disparity allowance to grade 20 to 22 officers of the public sector because it involves a very minimal cost,” a top official of the Finance Division said while talking to The News on Saturday.
The government had announced 10 percent ad hoc allowance for salaries increase in the budget and provided a 25 percent disparity allowance from April 2021.
A notification issued on March 3, 2021 stated that with approval of the federal government, the government approved Disparity Reduction Allowance @ 250/ of the basic pay of Basic Pay Scales 2017 w.e.f. 1 March 2021. This allowance shall be admissible to civil employees in BPS 1-19 of the Federal Government, (including employees of the Federal Secretariat and attached departments), who have never been allowed additional allowance/allowances equal to or more than 100% of the basic pay (whether frozen or not) or performance allowance with certain conditions. Now this allowance is expected to be provided to grade 20 to 22 employees as well.
