Says it is ‘N-League Action Plan’; demands formation of MPs body to monitor plan; asks when plots against provinces will stop and how many terrorists were arrested under NAP; asserts there are hideouts of terrorists in Punjab; vows to fight terrorists till the end

LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Sunday that the National Action Plan (NAP) is being used to target political opponents.

He demanded the formation of a Parliamentary Committee to monitor the National Action Plan (NAP) and said that the PPP was not against NAP but it had now turned into the ‘N-league Action Plan’.He was addressing the eighth death anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

“This is not the real action plan all political parties had agreed upon. Instead, this is PML-N’s action plan which is being used to target political opponents,” Bilawal said and added that targeted killing started with the killing of ZA Bhutto, and the killing of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, Salman Taseer and Shahbaz Bhatti were also a kind of targeted killing. He said that the target killing of the PPP had now started.

He said that there were hideouts of terrorists in Punjab while cases under the terrorist act were registered against his father, late mother and grandmother.Bilawal said, “We support the NAP’s enforcement but people ask when the conspiracies against the provinces will stop at its behest. Isn’t NAP a tool for political victimisation? Will the government answer how many terrorists of the Army Public School have been arrested? Didn’t you provide shelter to terrorists in Punjab? Mian Sahib! You are free to use NAB and the FIA but you are destined to be defeated.”

He said that one man from Islamabad could not run the country and the control of national institutions could not be handed over to friends. He asked Nawaz Sharif why decisions were made behind closed doors.

He said that on the one hand, the Pakistan Army was making sacrifices in North Waziristan while on the other the people of North Waziristan were still IDPs. He questioned why the government still had a soft corner for terrorists.

He said that PPP pledged to fight against terrorists till the last drop of blood and said that his party sacrificed lives while combating terrorists.

He asked Nawaz Sharif whowas behind the Model Town incident and who had given command to attackers and why he proposed to sale out the national institutions like Pakistan Steal Mills (PSM) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

He said that PPP would come on the roads against such moves of Nawaz Sharif. He said that peasants were being deprived of appropriate rates of their crops.

The PPP chairman said that people of Pakistan were also being deprived of the benefits of reduction of prices of POL in the international market. He said that PPP would not accept economic death of the people.

He said that harassment, pressure and victimisation of PPP were not a new chapter for the party. He said that following the way of Shaheed ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto was not easy. Bilawal said that he, his father and party workers had chosen the same way.

He said that democracy in Pakistan was because of the sacrifice of his mother. He said that once again PPP was under attack of allegations. The attackers should realise that the federation was intact because of their sacrifices.

He said he was committed to turn Pakistan into a cradle of peace where rights of labourers would be protected, youths would not remain jobless, women would not be oppressed and justice would be dispensed with.Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said if the voice of Parliament was not heard, they would announce “Damadam Mast Qalandar”.
