Frontline workers vaccinated on priority: Dr Yasmin Rashid

LAHORE:Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid met a delegation of Orange Line Metro Train at Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department here on Tuesday.

Deputy CEO OT Project Li Chen, GM Li Jianquan, DGM Pan Song and DGM Nouman Akhtar presented details of the train project to the minister. Additional Secretary Development P&SHD Omer Farooq and other officials attended the meeting. Deputy CEO Orange Train appreciated the efforts of the health minister in combating pandemic and developing vaccination facilities. He thanked the minister for provision of COVID-19 vaccination for 1,400 employees of Orange Line. A shield was presented to the minister by the delegation.

The minister said, “Pakistan and China friendship has been exemplary for decades. Both the countries are working on developing coordination to control epidemics. Frontline workers were vaccinated on priority. Pakistani people are thankful to the Chinese people for support during the pandemic. We are also grateful to China for their technical support for the preparation of vaccine. We are working on doubling the vaccination capacity in Punjab.”

Meanwhile, the health minister reviewed measures to beautify and clean Lahore on directions from Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in a meeting at Chief Minister Office. The minister reviewed the role and responsibilities of all institutions in keeping Lahore clean. The meeting decided to develop play lands at vacant government plots. The minister said, “We are endeavouring to make Lahore green and beautiful as per vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. A taskforce comprising representatives of institutions concerned will be made. All complaints received at Khidmat app are being addressed. We want to see Lahore beautiful. Waste is being disposed on daily basis from all sites. Night operations are underway by LWMC to dispose of the waste and daily around six ton waste is disposed. A strategy has been made to make Lahore pollution free.”
