LAHORE:All public and private schools in Punjab will reopen for all classes from Monday (today). However, students of each class would be allowed to come on alternate day with 50 percent attendance each day. Earlier from May 31, School Education Department (SED) Punjab had allowed schools to hold classes for 10th and 12th grades only.

Now from Monday (today) onward all schools across Punjab will re-open for all classes. Parents asked to educate children on SOPsLahore Division Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Usman Younis on Sunday urged the parents to send their children to the educational institutions reopening from today after giving them training about coronavirus SOPs.

In a media statement issued here, he appealed to the parents to encourage their kids to go to schools with full confidence by creating such an environment so that children could be enabled to cope with this grave challenge.

He said parents should time and again remind their children of the coronavirus SOPs such as wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, washing hands with soap for at least 20 seconds and using hand sanitizer, etc..

He was of the view that more adoption of coronavirus SOPs would not only ensure safety to children but also help continuation of educational activities on a regular basis. Meanwhile, the Special Squad of Commissioner while taking action against the violators of COVID-19 SOPs and business hours late last night sealed several hotels, banquet halls and restaurants, including Luxus Grand Hotel and Banquet Hall.
