Asif inaugurates Sapphire Wind Mill project in Jhimpir
Company has started producing 52.8MWs that are being transferred to the national grid

THATTA: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khwaja Muhammad Asif performed the inauguration ceremony of Sapphire Wind Mill project in the hilly tract of Jhimpir on Monday.
Addressing the ceremony, he said that the government was striving to generate electric power for the national grid. He appreciated investors and all companies that have already installed projects and those who are in the process of installation of more projects.
Sapphire has started producing 52.8MWs that are being transferred to the national grid.Turkish Zurlu was the first company that completed the projects and started supplying 56MWs. Later, FFC and 3 Gorges completed their projects and are supplying power to the national grid.
Several other companies, including Yunus Energy, are in the process of installation of their projects in the Jhimpir to Gharo hilly tract that has been declared as the best wind corridor for the wind mill project.
Khwaja Asif called upon the Sindh government to facilitate all these companies and provide infrastructure for smooth and timely completion of these projects for production of more electric power.Deputy Commissioner Thatta Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon, notables and representatives of the companies attended the ceremony.
