Need for women laws highlighted

The Society for Enforcement of Rule of Law organised a seminar on ‘Protecting Women through Law’ in Islamabad, says a press release.
The event was attended by a large number of lawyers and law students besides members of the diplomatic community. The eminent speakers included Syed Ali Zafar, President Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan, Jamshed M. Kazi, Country Head UN Women, Jean-François Cautain, Head of Delegation of the European Union Delegation, Tariq Bilal, Advocate Supreme Court and Muhammad Atiq ur Rehman, Principal Islamabad Law College.
The speakers highlighted the need for promulgation of laws for the protection of women rights and implementation of the existing ones. The event was sponsored by a German Political Foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
