ISLAMABAD: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement through the use of brute force.
The APHC, at a meeting of its executive council presided over by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar, paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri youth. It said that Kashmir was an issue of the Kashmiris’ aspirations and cannot be resolved through military might, the Kashmir Media Service reported.
The meeting expressed serious concern over the killing of youth, use of excessive force on peaceful protesters, arrests and curbs on the political activities of the Hurriyat leaders. It said that all these actions showed that the puppet rulers could go to any extent in their lust for power.
The participants discussed in detail the suggestions and proposals presented by the pro-freedom leaders, Ulema, intellectuals and legal experts during the consultative meeting called by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to formulate a joint strategy to counter India’s aggressive policies against the Kashmiri people.
A committee was constituted to further consult the pro-liberation leadership, religious organisations, Ulema, lawyers, students and traders organisations and members of the civil society in the light of these proposals and suggestions.
