ISLAMABAD: Experts in regional affairs in the federal capital have hinted at further stage-managed activities by the Modi government in the coming days while putting the blame on Pakistan. These incidents will be arranged so as to deflect the public opinion and build pressure on the BJP government. “Modi bashing has increased to a great extent both inside and outside India,” said the experts who did not wish to be identified. “There are several reasons for it including loss in the Bihar elections, lynching of Muslims on beef issue, return of awards by Indian intellectuals and protests on Modi’s visit to Kashmir.”
Recently, the Indian media had blamed the Pakistan Navy for sending submarines to target the Indian fishermen, a wacky plot with no head and tail.
Before that, the Indian Navy, involved in several such stage-managed activities, had claimed that an Indian fisherman was killed after the Pakistan Navy opened fire on two Indian boats off the Gujarat coast.
Earlier, the Indian authorities had sunk a boat off the coast of Gujarat, claiming that it was coming from Pakistan with explosives on board. On the other hand, a senior official of the Indian Coast Guard had claimed that the four people on board the fishing vessel had deliberately set the boat on fire.
In the fourth such incident, three gunmen had opened fire on a bus in the Indian Punjab and then stormed a police station in a town called Dinanagar on July 27, 2015. The attack led to the death of three civilians and four policemen and injure 15 others. It was the first such attack in the Indian Punjab since the mid-1990s when an insurgency was running in the state for setting up the independent state of Khalistan. It was squarely blamed on Pakistan.
“Under the present circumstances, we cannot discount a stage managed incident by the Modi government,” the experts added. “This incident will be as usual significantly highlighted by the Indian media to divert the people’s attention from the mounting follies of Modi sarkar.”
