Islamabad: Eminent scholar and former adviser to the AJK prime minister Professor Dr. Maqsood Jafri, in an exclusive meeting with Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Mohammad Yaqub Khan at the Kashmir House here, discussed the Kashmir issue and proposed that this issue should be highlighted at international level, says a press release.
Dr. Maqsood Jafri proposed that the atrocities committed by the Indian army on docile and defenseless Kashmiris should be brought to the notice at international level and the intellectuals, journalists and civil society be mobilised against Indian aggression.
He further proposed that to get the UN Resolutions implemented the Kashmiris and Pakistanis should involve the Muslim community and the democratic forces all over the world against the Indian expansionism and hegemony. In this regard Pakistani embassies should establish Kashmir Desks to highlight this issue and Kashmir Liberation Cell be activated to publish fresh material on Kashmir in the form of pamphlets and books in different languages.
AJK President Sardar Mohammad Yaqub Khan assured Dr. Maqsood Jafri his all assistance in this national mission and said that the accession of Kashmir with Pakistan is our priority and all diplomatic and moral efforts will be done to get the Kashmiris their right assigned to them by UNO. The president further said that Kashmir was the jugular vein of Pakistan and was the unfinished agenda of the partition plan of the sub-continent.
