The world is full of diverse and indigenous cultures, all having a special meaning and giving a special identity to its followers. It has become increasingly important in this age to appreciate and recognise this diversity of cultures and keep them from just fading away in the pages of history.
The students of Roots Garden School, Preparatory Branch, Civil Lines, displayed captivating cultures of the world on their Open day with the message 'Diversity is the beauty of our world.'
The entire school was transformed into a panorama of magnificent cultures of the world. Each class was assigned a country and the young Rootsians under the supervision of their teachers took pains in displaying every aspect of their allocated country and its culture. Their confidence was amazing as they introduced their country in that particular language. Parents had extended wholehearted support in making the event a memorable one for their child. The mothers had taken pains in adorning their children in intricate costumes, jewellery, hairstyles and culinary delightsof the country their child was representing. The main purpose of the activity was to expose the children to different cultures and languages of the world.
The teachers had depicted the folklores, cultural dances and customs meticulously. Many mothers joined in the cultural fiesta to encourage the teachers and their children.
Mrs. Riffat Mushtaq, founder and chairperson of Roots, spent the whole day amidst the children and in the end she had a storytelling session with the young kids and a very enlightening informative session with sixth graders on the topic 'Believe in yourself'.
