FAISALABAD: Ten members of a family tested positive here on Saturday.
Reportedly, after receiving the coronavirus test result positive of Sajid Ali, resident of Gulfishan Colony (Block B) Narwala Road, the district health authorities immediately tested remaining nine members of the family of Sajid Ali whose results were also found positive.
All the family members of Sajid Ali had been shifted to the General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammadabad, Faisalabad, where they were provided necessary medical assistance in the isolation ward of the hospital.
The other family members of Sajid Ali are Farzana Bibi (30), Hassan Ali (10), Mukkarama ( 5), Ahmad (15), Naila (38), Usama Umair (1), Mah-e-Noor (18) and Alishia (12).
After this alarming situation, the district authorities sealed the B Block of the Gulfishan Colony and took steps that nobody would be allowed to go out of their homes and no one could enter the coronavirus affected area of the colony.
According to another report, the local health authorities of Faisalabad also received coronavirus test reports of 89 suspected patients which were being scrutinised for fixing the category and the nature of action to be taken in these cases in the light of their test reports.
Meanwhile, the district authorities have planned to take some concrete preventive steps to stop the spread of coronavirus in Faisalabad. The police on duty would ensure that there should not be assembly of five or more people at any place in Faisalabad which was prohibited under Section 144.
Superstore fined: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali visited superstores in different areas to check the availability, quality and prices of essentials items at DC counters.
The deputy commissioner ordered action against the manager for overcharging of sugar at the counter of Family Mart in Millat Town and also imposed heavy fine on the mart while directed to close some stalls of Imtiaz Mart on Sheikhupura Road.
The deputy commissioner also inquired about the quality from the customers present at the DC counters at superstores. Assistant Commissioner City Syed Ayub Bukhari and senior officers of Pakistan Army were also present on the occasion. The DC directed the stores administration to implement the fixed prices during Ramazan.
He told the supermarket owners that only standard items should be available at the DC counters.
He said that the price control magistrates should continue the process of price checking and no concession should be made to the vendors, who robbed the consumers. He said that the consumers would get relief from the actions of the price control magistrates.
