Teenager ‘kills self’; three others die in mishaps

A teenaged boy allegedly killed himself in the Lyari neighbourhood on Thursday According to the Chakiwara police, the incident took place at a house located at Bihar Colony after which rescuers reached the property and moved the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. The deceased was identified as 17-year-old Muzammil, son of Manzur Ahmed. The police said the boy ended his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan, adding that it was yet to be ascertained why did he took his own life.

Man dies

A 55-year-old man, identified as Nazeer, son of Malik, died after he fell off a coconut tree in the Federal B Area. According to the Gulberg police, he was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. The police said the deceased was cutting coconuts from the tree when he slipped and fell down.

Road accident

A 33-year-old man, identified as Rajid, son of Faiz Muhammad, lost his life in a road accident near the DHA City on Superhighway. According to the Gadap City police, the accident took place when the victim was on his way to Karachi from Hyderabad in his car which collided with a speedy trailer. The body was taken to the ASH for an autopsy. A case has been registered.

Man drowns

An elderly man, identified as 60-year-old Noor Alam, drowned while bathing in sea near the Korangi Fishery. Police said a diver attempted to save him but the elderly man lost his life. The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal

formalities.
