KARACHI: A total of 32 athletes from all the three armed forces of the country will participate in the 6th CISM Military World Games to be held in Mungyeong, Korea from October 2-10.
“The contingent consists of 32 athletes from all three armed forces, though majority of them are from the Army. We are leaving on the 28th of this month,” Col Asghar Fiaz Bodla, Deputy Director, Service Sports Control Committee, told ‘The News’.
He added that their athletes would participate in different disciplines including boxing, golf, taekwondo, sailing, wrestling, athletics, and archery.
Pakistan managed to win just one bronze medal in the 2011 edition of Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The Military World Games are a multi-sports event organised every four years, one year before the year the Olympic Games are held.
