Akhtar upset over Hasan’s recovery process
LAHORE: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his disappointment with Hasan Ali’s recovery process.Pakistan all-rounder Hasan Ali hasn’t played a game for the national side since the 2019 World Cup in England.
Ali once hailed as Pakistan’s next big thing, played his last international game for the country against arch-rivals India at Old Trafford. After a shambolic performance that saw him become the first bowler from the country to register the most expensive figures (1-84) in a World Cup game, Ali was dropped from the set-up and since then he has been grappling with recurring back injuries.
Former Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood recently kicked up a storm when he said that the reason behind Ali’s injury was that he was made to lift deadweights of 120-130 kg.The current bowling coach Waqar Younis refuted the claims by saying that Hasan Ali got injured during a First-Class match.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar is not too happy with the way Ali has trained during his recovery process. Akhtar also reckoned that Ali has been overworked and hasn’t been managed well by the management.
