Motorcycle-lifters’ gang busted
Rawalpindi : A motorcycle-lifters gang 'Aamri' arrested with five motorcycles and a facilitator here on Thursday in the limits of Westridge Police station.
Westridge Police arrested 'Aamri' gang leader Amir aka Aamri and his aide Ijaz aka Shera and also recovered five stolen motorcycles, batteries and mobiles from their possession. The detainee Amir was on wanted list in robberies of various motorcycles in the limits of Sadar Beiruni and Westridge Police stations. The detainee bike-lifters gang use to steal motorcycles parked outside homes and in parking slots of markets. This gang use to sale stolen bikes on throwaway price by changing the number plates, said police.
SP (Potohar Circle) on reports of motorcycle-lifting incidents constituted a special team headed by ASP Cantt, SHO Westridge and other police officials to arrest the bike-lifters.
