Pervaiz for stopping negative propaganda against Tableeghi Jamaat
LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that no oppression or excesses with the Tableeghi Jamaat will be tolerated.
In a statement here on Wednesday, Pervaiz Elahi said that negative propaganda against Tableeghi Jamaat should be stopped. He said that he had also contacted Chief Minister Usman Buzdar regarding Tableeghi people matter.
He questioned had coronavirus spread in Europe and the US because of Tableeghi Jamaat. Punjab police should not commit any excesses with the guests who came here from foreign countries. He asked police to correct their attitude. The guests should not be treated as culprits, he added.
He said the people who were picked from the mosques should immediately be released and shifted to mosques or Tableeghi centres. He said the mosques and centres be declared as quarantines and ration and facilities should be arranged there for them.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said Tableeghi Jamaat, no doubt, was a peaceful Jamaat. “This Jamaat is the biggest representative Jamaat of the Muslims in the world and is calling for peace throughout the world. Its members are recognised in every region and country of the world as the ambassadors of peace.
This is such a Jamaat whose Tableegh (preaching) has not caused chaos anywhere ever,” the PA Speaker said.
