Second senior Mardan cop tests positive for coronavirus
PESHAWAR: Another police officer serving in Mardan district has tested positive for coronavirus. According to sources, Mohsin Fawad, the station house officer (SHO), Katlang, in Mardan district contracted coronavirus and is now undergoing treatment. Mohsin Fawad, who was recently posted as SHO Katlang, performed emergency duty during the recent coronavirus crisis in Manga village in Mardan district. The first death in Pakistan from COVID-19 was reported from Manga when one Saadat Khan died following his return from Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah. More than 40 Manga villagers including his family members were also infected. Earlier, the SP Operations Mardan, Waqar Kharal, who was supervising the lockdown of Manga village tested positive for coronavirus. The police have been trying to prevent the spread of the highly contagious disease from by trying to keep the villagers from leaving Manga.
