Prayer leaders ask people to act on govt advice

MANSEHRA: Most of the prayer leaders squeezed their sermons and recited short verses during Friday prayers in compliance with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s advisories issued with the aim to contain the spread of Covid-19 in the province.
“We are bound by our religion to obey government’s advisories and if it decrees not to offer even Friday congregations in order to contain the spread of Covid-19, we would also follow that order in letter and spirit,” Maulana Shafique, a prayer leader of the central mosque at Abbottabad road, told Friday congregation.
