Karachi An additional district and sessions court on on Saturday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment for the murder of Balochistan government’s minster Mir Rustam Jamali. Hayat Shah, Taj Mohammad and Habibullah were prosecuted for killing former Balochistan minister for excise and taxation, Sardar Rustam Jamali, in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on August 6, 2009. According to the prosecution, the convicts had killed the minster when he went to Gulistan-e-Jauhar to meet a friend. The court observed that the prosecution had proved the charges against the defendants beyond any reasonable doubt and sentenced them to life imprisonment. However, two co-accused Kamran and Hafeez were acquitted on grounds of benefit of doubt. NBW against jailer An anti-terrorism court issued non-bailable warrants against deputy superintendent prison for not appearing before the court to record his testimony. The court was hearing the trial against Abdul Aziz, Mehmood and Noor Mohammad in the murder case of assistant superintendent prison Ishaq Meo who was killed on June 14, 2010, in Ferozabad area. The court had called the deputy superintendent prison Abdul Khaliq to appear for recording his statement but he did not turn up. On Saturday, the court issued non-bailable warrants against deputy superintendent prison and also against DSP Mushtaq, a complainant in the case, for not appearing in court.
