Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce & Cooperative Department and Anti-Corruption Jam Ikramuallah Dharejo, while criticising Sunday’s speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that it was really surprising that the premier was not willing to announce a lockdown in the country when it was needed the most, as the coronavirus threat had paralysed the world and was rapidly rising in Pakistan too.
In a statement issued here, he said that it was on the record that for his motives he locked down the country when he was in opposition and caused a big loss to Pakistan’ s economy, and “it is really sorry to say that when the country needs it, he is unwilling to do so”.
Dharejo added, “CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, on the directives and vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has taken right steps to tackle the situation created by coronavirus and he [Syed Murad Ali Shah] has rightly decided to lock down Sindh.”
He said that he strongly believed that sooner or later the federal government had to follow the steps taken by the Sindh government in the interest of the people to protect them from the deadly coronavirus. He also requested the people of Sindh to cooperate with the provincial government, saying that there was no other solution but to keep social distance and stay at their homes to save not only themselves but their loved ones too.
