HEC establishes committees to prepare online contents for students
Islamabad : The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has established technology support and content committees to prepare online contents of lecturers in order to minimise the loss of students after closing of educational institutions due to COVID-19.
According to sources on Friday, the faculties have also been advised to attend campus only when required for preparation and delivery of online courses/content with a view to minimize any academic loss of the students.
The higher educational institutions have started online assessment in various departments, which will be provided soon in their all departments, they added.
They said lectures would be delivered by using Learning Management System and Campus Management System.
In addition, they said that different applications like Google classroom, Microsoft and other related software could be utilised in this regard.
The data in form of video, audio and contents would be shared with the student both online and offline by using WhatsApp, YouTube and other means so that every student could get access to the material, sources told.
The universities, providing education through Distance Learning System and Virtual Education would be taken on board for taking their assistance.
These universities have ensured their collaboration in arranging virtual & workshop mode classes and other online learning methodologies, they said.
The sources further revealed that if the crisis goes beyond April, 5, 2020 then even we are planning to conduct online examinations.
