KHAR: A student leader Nisar Khan Baz said that the bill moved in the National Assembly about the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would help the tribespeople play their role in the mainstream.
Speaking at a meeting on Monday, the Pakhtun Students Federation and Bajaur Students Organisation leader said that the people of the Fata had suffered a lot during the last decade. “The tribal population should be provided with opportunities to live a prosperous life,” he said. He added that the bill tabled in the National Assembly was a first step towards national integration and stability.
Lashing out at the decision of tribal jirga in Peshawar for issuing statement in favour of Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR), he termed it a draconian law. He maintained that the Fata parliamentarians had done a good job by moving the bill in the National Assembly.
