KARACHI: The PHF president and secretary will visit Karachi in a couple of days and will address a press conference at Hockey Club of Pakistan (HCP).
Sources in the PHF confirmed that both Khalid Khokhar and Shahbaz Ahmed Senior were likely to visit Karachi on Monday.
It was learnt that PHF president and secretary would announce some important steps to be taken for the promotion of hockey keeping in view the importance of Karachi.
The HCP administration will brief PHF president and secretary about the blue turf project. The blue turf is being laid at HCP by the Sindh government.
The project has been delayed due to poor condition of the base of the turf, a source said.
The source said that the project would be completed by the end of November.
The HCP is the only property of PHF which is financially sound and earning handsome money through its shops, offices and warehouses.
HCP recently issued notices to its more than 60 tenants to increase the fairs according to the market rates. HCP is situated in the heart of the city.
The HCP administration will brief the PHF bosses about the condition of the premises and the rents. Former Olympians, international players and local organisers are also seeking a meeting with the PHF president and secretary to know what their plans are to run the national game.
