Junior patrol officers complete training

LAHORE:Quality training is key to success for any organisation and success of National Highways and Motorway Police lies in training of its officers on professional and modern lines, said NH&MP IG AD Khawaja.

He stated this while addressing passing-out ceremony of 409 junior patrol officers (JPOs), including 36 female officers. The IG was the chief guest of the ceremony. Training College Commandant DIG Mehboob Aslam, DIG Central Ahmad Arslan Malik, DIG North Muhammad Alam Shinwari, DIG Motorways Sultan Chaudhry, media representatives, columnists, relatives of the officers who passed out of the college were also present. Earlier, NH&MP IG AD Khawaja inspected the parade of platoons.

Addressing the officers who completed their training, the IG said they should feel proud that they were part of an organisation which had earned worldwide fame as an honest and professional force.

He shared his expectations that the JPOs would uphold the core values of NH&MP which were honesty, courtesy and help at all costs. He said, “If we want to improve our departments, we will have to make wise selection of persons on merit and improve the standard of professional training.”

He appreciated the efforts of Training College Commandant DIG Mehboob Aslam for excellent training of the JPOs and making arrangement for the ceremony in a befitting manner. Later, the JPOs marched pass before the IG. A tactical demonstration of weapons and fitness by special commando squad of the newly-trained JPOs was also part of the event.

The IG distributed rewards among round first JPO Danish Waheed, best in parade JPO Muhammad Umar, best in parade among woman JPO Laila Jafar, best in discipline JPO Muhammad Junaid, best in academics JPO Umar Fiaz and best in firing JPO Mureed Abbas.

The NH&MP IG also laid floral wreaths at the monument of martyrs of NH&MP and prayed for the departed souls.
