DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The officials of the Wildlife Department foiled a bid to smuggle hundreds of birds from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, a senior official said. Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) Abdul Halim Marwat said that acting on a tip-off, he directed the personnel at the border checkpoint near Darya Khan Bridge about the possible attempt of the birds smuggling. He said that the wildlife personnel pulled over the passenger vehicles and on thorough search, they seized dozens of wooden boxes containing 400 quails being smuggled to Bannu, Kohat and Peshawar from Multan.
