NOWSHERA: The Awami National Party (ANP) Friday issued show-cause notices to its three districts and a tehsil councillor for violating the party discipline.
The ANP district president, Malik Juma Khan, told reporters that he had issued the show-cause notices on the directives of the party’s provincial president Ameer Haider Hoti for violation of the party discipline.
He said that the show-cause notices were served under section 78-A of the Local Government Act 2013 for supporting the candidate of the rival party in the recently held district government elections.
He said the show-cause notices have been served on the district councillors Jamal Ahmad Khan, Tilawat Khan, Malik Adalat Khan and a tehsil councillor Mumtaz.
He said that the councillors were asked to submit their replies in seven days of receiving the show-cause notices, adding that the ANP policy was clear and there was no place in the party for ‘traitors’.
