National Inter-Club Weightlifting C’ships from January 24-26
KARACHI: National Inter-Club Pre-Youth, Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships will be held from January 24 to 26 at Punjab University Weightlifting Academy near Choburjee, Lahore.
More than 150 young weightlifters from 15 clubs will participate in these three-day competitions, part of the talent hunt programme of Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF).
The PWF said that 20 players would be picked for month-long training at the same venue under the supervision of senior national coaches.
In the pre-youth category (upto 15 years of age), competitions will be held in 39 kg, 44 kg, 49 kg, 55 kg, 61 kg, 67 kg, 73 kg and over 73 kg.
Youth (upto 17 years) weightlifters will compete in 49 kg, 55 kg, 61 kg, 67 kg, 73 kg, 81 kg, 89 kg, 96 kg, 102 kg and over 102 kg.
The juniors (upto 20 years) will appear in 55 kg, 61 kg, 67 kg, 73 kg, 81 kg, 89 kg, 96 kg, 102 kg, 109 kg and over 109 kg.
