Senate Standing Committee Meeting: PCB chief’s absence angers members
ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on InterProvincial Coordination (IPC) has threatened to move a privilege motion against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani for his continuous absence from its meetings despite repeated reminders.
The meeting, chaired by Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar, was adjourned due to the absence of the PCB chairman and IPC Minister Dr Fehmida Mirza.
“On the last three occasions Ehsan Mani has failed to attend the meeting and seems more interested in trying to get support of senators to justify his absence,” Sardar Yaqoob said. The senators present on the occasion were also furious and demanded that Sardar Yaqoob should move a privilege motion against Ehsan Mani. “The matter will be forwarded to the privilege committee if Ehsan Mani is absent from the next meeting. We are issuing him summon for his appearance in the next committee meeting,” Sardar Yaqoob said. Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar said Mani should keep attending the meeting as his top priority. “This is the fourth occasion that the PCB chairman did".
