Work on Oghi hospital to resume, assures official

MANSEHRA: A senior administrative official said on Wednesday construction work on the tehsil headquarters hospital in Oghi was suspended for the shortage of funds and he would take up the issue with the government.

Hazara Commissioner Zaheerul Islam held out the assurance at a public forum organised by the district administration in Oghi.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Aurangzeb Haider Khan and Additional Deputy Commissioner Yasir Khan were in attendance as well. The commissioner said repair work on Mansehra-Oghi-Darband road would soon be started with an estimated cost of Rs35 million as the government wanted to provide better road services to people. The former tehsil naib nazim, Qazi Zahidullah speaking on the occasion, said the owners whose land was acquired for Manchora water reservoir construction had been awaiting the release of their money for the last almost two years.

“We have already taken this issue with the deputy commissioner and other relevant quarters but to no avail and people forced suspension of work on it,” said Zahidullah. The people also raised health, education, roads other issues, demanding an immediate resolution.
