This letter refers to the article ‘With the head hung in shame’ (Dec 21, 2019) by Atta-Ur-Rahman. Whatever, he has written regarding progress achieved during Gen (r) Musharraf's tenure is based on facts and mostly accurate. One may disagree because of the fact that he was a dictator and of course, as the saying goes, even the 'worst kind of democracy is better than the best kind of dictatorship.’
After the Musharraf regime ended, I sincerely wished that the PPP and PML-N governments that followed would take him on as an ‘advisor’. I appeal to the PTI government, to give him a suitable and respectable appointment; he has already done exemplary work and, given another chance, can contribute further to the development and progress of Pakistan.

This refers to the article ‘With the head hung in shame’ (Dec 21, 2019) by Atta-Ur-Rahman. The writer has expressed his deep sense of despair at the court's decision on Musharraf's trial, despite his meritorious services for Pakistan. The history of the world is replete with examples of heroes turned into villains due to some serious follies at a later stage of their rule.
One cannot dispute the achievements of Musharraf in improving the economy and development in Pakistan. However, good performance or security situation does not excuse an alleged breach of the law of the land.
