PESHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has directed all the public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to waive off admission fee for one academic year of the students belonging to the Chitral district.
The directives were issued due to recent widespread flash floods in Chitral which have ravaged a large part of the district and paralysed life there. The calamity has damaged multitude of hamlets and destroyed crops, leaving thousands of the inhabitants homeless.
The governor felt the agonies of the dwellers of the Chitral district in this natural calamity. He believed that in this hour of difficulty the Chitrali people deserved maximum relief from the government. In view of the huge losses suffered by the district, the governor asked all the public sector universities to waive off admission fee for the one academic year to all the Chitrali students. The VCs of all the public sector universities, director of Institute of the Management Sciences, Peshawar, and principal of the Edwardes College, Peshawar, were informed, said an official handout.
