Islamabad : Islamabad Police have arrested 31 persons during the last 24 hours in its crackdown against criminal elements and recovered narcotics and weapons from them, a police spokesman.
Following directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed issued directions to all zonal officers for renewed efforts against those involved in anti-social activities.
Owing these efforts, Lohibher police arrested accused Sani Masih and 17 recovered wine bottles from him. Nilor police arrested accused Muhammad Mumtaiz and recovered 108 gram heroin from him.
Khanna police arrested accused Prince Masih and recovered 2.200 kilogram hashish, 200 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol from their possession. Secretariat police arrested two accused Shahid Hussain and Usman Aziz and recovered 140 gram hashish five gram Ice and one 30 bore pistol from their possession.
Kohsar police arrested two accused Irfan and Raja Aflal and recovered 03 wine bottles and one 30-bore illicit pistol from their possession. Bhara Kahu police arrested two accused Nasir Mehmood and Usama Zaheer and recovered four wine bottles from their possession
Tarnol police arrested four accused Saleem, Hassan Nawaz, Faisal Khan and Muhammad Irfan. Shahzad Town police arrested two accused Irfan Shakar and Sibtain Shah and recovered two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is underway from them.
During special checking in the whole city, police nabbed 14 proclaimed offenders and court absconder.
DIG (Operations) Islamabad Waqar Uddin Syed has said that these social evils would be curbed and those backing those drug peddlers and professional beggars would be dealt with iron hand. He further emphasized that this campaign would continue till elimination of anti-social elements.
