A security guard of a private courier company shot dead his colleague and later committed suicide over a petty dispute in the Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate police limits on Monday.
The victim was identified as Shakeel Qasim and the accused person Nijaat Khan. Police have registered a case against Nijaat Khan, 23, a resident of Kohat, on the complaint of Qasim Ali, father of the deceased person.An investigator said both the victim and the accused person worked as security guards at the godown of a private courier company in Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate area. On the day of the incident, they were making fun of each other. One of the deceased persons took the mobile phone of the other. On which, they exchanged harsh words. Nijaat Khan got infuriated and shot at Shakeel, who received bullet injuries and fell down. The accused person shot himself too. They were shifted to a nearby hospital where both of them died.
Police reached the incident place on information and removed the bodies to morgue. They collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and registered statements of the eye-witnesses.
DIES: A 25-year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances in the Johar Town police limits on Monday. The woman was identified as Shahnaz Bibi, wife of Shamas-ud-Din, a resident of 43-RL Chak Okara.
Police said the victim had come to see her sister Kishwar at her house at 335-E Block, Johar Town. On the day of the incident, they received a call about the death of the victim. They reached the incident place on information and found the victim hanging with a fan. Her headscarf was wrapped around her neck, the police said. They removed the body to morgue, collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and registered statements of the eye-witnesses.
ACCIDENTS: More than 600 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which three lives were lost in different districts of Punjab and 506 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 243 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first aid on the spot.
