CHITRAL: Various events were organised to mark the third anniversary of the plane air crash in which 47 passengers, including Islamic preacher Junaid Jamshed and the then deputy commissioner of Chitral Osama Warraich lost their lives on December 7, 2016.

The PK-661 was returning to Islamabad from Chitral when it crashed near Havelian. The people visited the graves located in various areas of the district and offered fateha for the departed souls. In the Chitral town, a function was organised at the Osama Shaheed Park. The park was named after ‘Osama Warraich Shaheed’ which he had built through his resources. Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed and District Police Officer Waseem Riaz placed the floral wreath on the Yadgar-i-Shuhada while a contingent of the police presented the salute.

The Quran Khawani was held at several places, including Shahi Masjid, Osama Shaheed Career Academy, Government High School, Chitral and other areas in the Lower Chitral and Upper Chitral districts.
