ISLAMABAD: The outgoing Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Hunardoost said Pakistan's role in and sacrifices for ending terrorism and restoring peace in the region are unforgettable.
“Iran has always esteemed Pakistan's role and efforts for regional peace and also for foiling the nefarious designs of peace enemies," he expressed these views while talking to Chairman Tehreek-e-Jawanan Pakistan and Kashmir (TJPK) Mohammad Abdullah Hamid Gul in his farewell meeting.
Ambassador Mehdi Hunardoost said, "Pakistan and its people have honoured me with great respect which I will never forget in my lifetime. The history has testified that Iran is second to none in paying back for the love and respect it received from friendly countries. Iran and Pakistan are brotherly Islamic countries that have stood beside one another during crisis.”
The Iranian ambassador said that his time in Pakistan was very memorable and expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani government and the people especially for their support. TJPK Chairman Mohammed Abdullah Hamid Gul lauded the outgoing Iranian ambassador's services for enhancing Pakistan-Iran relationship and said that thanks to Ambassador Hunardoost's excellent diplomacy as the two countries and their people have been brought closer to each other.
"Ambassador Hunardoost and his entire team deserve the credit for boosting the bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Iran trade," he added.
Pakistan and Iran will thwart the global conspiracies and anti-Islam forces's ambitions against Islam, Abdullah Gul noted.
