300 participants of students march in Lahore booked
LAHORE: The Civil Lines police registered a case against 300 persons on charge of staging a protest demonstration at Faisal Chowk two days back. Alamgir Wazeer, Aamar Ali, Farooq Tariq, Iqbal Lala, Muhammad Shabbir and Kamil Khan were nominated in the FIR. The FIR was registered under Sound Act, Law and Order Act and 144CrPc.
Members of civil society and students had staged a protest at the Faisal Chowk two days back for restoration of student unions. Police arrested Alamgir Wazeer for delivering a provocative speech against the national institutions.
Meanwhile, students staged a demonstration on the New Campus bridge Sunday against the arrest of student and FIR against 300 students at Civil Lines police station. They blocked traffic and chanted slogans against the government. They said that the police had arrested a student Alamgir from the hostel premises a day back on charges of delivering a provocative speech against the state and other national institutions at the Faisal Chowk. It was worth mentioning that civil society members and the students staged a demonstration at the Faisal Chowk two days back for the restoration of student unions.
