PM’s statement after SC verdict was inappropriate: Sherry
ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the Senate Sherry Friday dubbed the tweet of Prime Minister Imran Khan after the Supreme Court verdict is ‘inappropriate’ and said that it seems their politics will be paralysed with this attitude .
“The government has postponed the session of the National Assembly while the Senate is already locked down. The government is not doing legislation in the Parliament, but through the ordinances,” she said while talking to media persons here.
She said there was no parliamentary business, no legislation and even bills were being sent to the Parliament then the people will also ask about the democracy and election. “The main purpose of the election is people-friendly legislation to handle their issues. Whether the government is afraid of questions about the raising tariffs of electricity,” she asked.
The PPP leader said the opposition also facilitated the people-friendly legislation and on the key issue like Kashmir, but their attitude towards opposition always remains improper. She said the supremacy of the constitution and democracy could not be possible without the Parliament.
The PPP leader said the government will have to bring constitutional amendment in the light of the judgement of the Supreme Court with regard to appointment of the Chief of Army Staff.
