Child rapist sent to jail on judicial remand

RAWALPINDI: Civil Judge Rawalpindi Qamar Abbas has sent Sohail Ayaz, leader of an international child rapist gang and his two friends to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand here on Wednesday.

Police have completed its investigation against child rapist gang therefore court sent them to jail. The court has directed police to present the accused again on December 11, 2019.

Rawat Police Station has registered FIRs against child rapist gang named Sohail Ayaz, Khurram alias Kala, and Muhammad Ijaz. The accused Khurram, alias Kala and Ijaz confessed to providing innocent minor children to Ayaz for rape.

The arrested men raped a child, who sold eggs for a living and has now been recovered after at least two months. They were involved in consuming and selling crystal methamphetamine commonly known as ice and heroin.

According to Rawalpindi Police, Sohail Ayaz arrested from Rawat area was suspected to have kidnapped and raped many children. He was working with the KP Governance and Policy Project as a consultant. “We will arrest some other friends of Ayaz very soon,” police said. Sohail Ayaz confessed to sexually abusing 30 innocent children. The law enforcers also recovered some abducted children they were in custody of the accused.

During investigation, police officials said that Sohail Ayaz was also a drug dealer. He sold ice and hashish. He was arrested after a woman filed a case against him for kidnapping her 13-year-old son, drugging him and then raping him for four days. He even filmed the child and threatened to release the videos if he told anyone about it.

During the investigation, it was found that Ayaz is a convicted child rapist in the UK. He was deported from the UK after he was found guilty of raping children. He had pleaded guilty to a series of sexual offences in 2009 and was jailed for four years in UK, the ‘Daily Mail’ had reported.

Ayaz is a former worker of the global non-profit organisation ‘Save the Children’. He was arrested in London in 2009 at the charity’s headquarters after thousands of child porn images were discovered at his home. He went to the UK on a two-year visa and at the time he was hired by the charity. He was also wanted in Italy in connection with a Romanian child sex ring.

According to the police, Ayaz’s parents and wife had parted ways with him many years ago because of his activities.
