Army announces major transfers, postings: With promotion of two Major Generals, the Pakistan Army announced postings and transfers in military’s top brass

RAWALPINDI: With promotion of two Major Generals, the Pakistan Army announced postings and transfers in military’s top brass on Monday. According to the ISPR, Major General Ali Amir Awan and Major General Mohammad Saeed have been promoted as three-star Generals.

Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who was serving as Adjutant General in the General Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as Chief of the General Staff (CGS). His predecessor Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza on his promotion as four-star General would take charge of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) on November 27.

The Chief of General Staff has organisational lead on operations and intelligence in the Pakistan Army as two critical directorates of Military Operations (MO) and Military Intelligence (MI) fall under him.

Corps Commander Mangla Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj has been given the posting of Director General of Strategic Plans Division (SPD). He would replace Lieutenant General Sarfraz Sattar, who was superseded with promotion of Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza as General.

Lieutenant General Muhammad Amir has been posted as Adjutant General while Corps Commander Peshawar Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood would now assume new responsibilities of Corps Commander Mangla. Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood, serving as Inspector General Communication and Information Technology (IG C&IT), would replace Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar as Corps Commander Peshawar.

The newly-promoted Lieutenant General Ali Amir Awan has been appointed as IG C&IT. Lieutenant General Ali Amir, who hails from Artillery, was General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division at the time of his promotion.

Lieutenant General Mohammad Saeed on his promotion has been posted as President National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad. The post of NDU was vacant with the retirement of Lieutenant General Amir Riaz.

The newly-promoted Lieutenant General Mohammad Saeed, who hails from Sindh Regiment, was posted as Director General Analysis in the Inter-Services Intelligence as Major General .
